The Movement’s Free Workshops!

Author Hello all!! Ready to have your day made?? Good! Because some awesome news is in order: we have our monthly FREE WORKSHOP coming up this Saturday, Sept. 24th, from 1-4pm!! We will hopefully be situated in Lower Sproul on the UC Berkeley Campus. However this may be subject to change, so if it does, we will likely migrate over to Upper Sproul or Haas Pavilion. When in doubt, follow the music! Our very own Movement Choreographers are teaching amazing Swing, Hip Hop and Jazz pieces; the schedule is as follows:
Swing 1-2pm, taught by Chad Fong
Hip Hop 2-3pm, taught by Jaymie Ngov
Jazz 3-4pm, taught by Anneke Pakvasa and Ari Ross

The [M]ovement is ready for Fall 2011, and we hope you are too!!
We have our Pre-Audition Workshops coming up on Friday, September 2nd, from 4-7pm on Upper Sproul. Each genre will have a workshop lasting one hour, beginning with Swing, then Jazz, and ending with Hip Hop. Don’t miss this great opportunity to get a feel for what [M]ovement is all about!!

Right after Pre-Audition Workshops are.. you guessed it! AUDITIONS. They will be held on Saturday, September 3rd, on Lower Sproul. Here’s the quick and dirty:
> SWING 9:00-11:00am
> JAZZ 11:00-1:00pm
> HIPHOP 1:00-4:00pm
Each genre audition piece will be collectively created by our very own lovely choreographers!
SWING: Allie & Kevin, Lori & Chad
JAZZ: Gloria, Hannie & Jessica, Anneke & Ari
HIPHOP: Sammy & Greg, Jaymie, NJBNJB (Nicolette & Jayton & Bao)

Mixer and Workshops!
GUESS WHAT? It’s time again for one of Movement’s FAVORITE times of the semester: Movement Mixer!!
Mixer will be held at TDX from 10PM-2AM on March 31st. You can purchase tickets starting this week at the Movement table on Sproul (from 10AM-2PM), they are $3 at the table, and $5 at the door. Bring your friends and party with Movement THIS THURSDAY!

WAIT! Don’t stop reading! The very next day (April 1st) is Movement’s Third FREE workshops of the semester! Workshops will be held at LOWER SPROUL from 4PM-7PM, and here’s the genre breakdown:
JAZZ will be from 4PM-5PM with Molly Kawahata
HIP HOP will be from 5PM-6PM with Andrew Thai
SWING will be from 6PM-7PM with Kimberly Manahan
NO previous dance experience is necessary — all dancers and non-dancers are welcome to come! Workshops are a great opportunity to meet past and current Movement members, so be sure to come and see what Movement has to offer YOU. So invite your friends (boyfriends and girlfriends), and we’ll see you THIS FRIDAY!

Welcome back to school and welcome back to the beginning of [M]ovement for Spring 2011!!
We have a couple of important announcements for the start of this semester!
COME OUT TO PRE-AUDITION WORKSHOPS and start spreading the word about Auditions! You should start talking it up amongst your friends.
Pre-Audition Workshop will be next Friday, January 28th from 4pm-7pm on Upper Sproul!
Auditions will be held Sunday, January 30th at 10am-4pm on Lower Sproul!
Genre Break-Down:
Swing: 10am-12pm
Jazz: 12pm-2pm
HipHop: 2pm-5pm
Yes, we will have make-ups. Time will be announced next week!
